About our emergency plumbing work
An emergency is not always dramatic. It is any situation where water is going somewhere it should not, where the property is being damaged, or where the household has lost something essential like all water or a working toilet.
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, and outside those hours we take emergency callouts. We will be honest on the phone about when we can get there rather than promising a time we cannot keep.
There is a lot you can do in the first few minutes, and it usually makes more difference than anything else. Getting the water off at the meter is the single most useful thing, and we will talk you through it if you are not sure where it is.

On the phone we work out how urgent it is and talk you through isolating the water if that has not been done.
On arrival the first job is making the property safe and stopping the escape of water.
We then explain what has failed and what it will take to fix it, before starting the repair.
Where a permanent repair needs a part we do not have with us, we make the site safe and watertight and come back to finish it as a priority.

Why it pays to sort it early

What should I do first in a plumbing emergency?
If it is safe, turn the water off at the meter near your front boundary. Keep away from wet areas near power points or electrical fittings, and do not turn power on to a flooded area. Then call us.
Do you attend after hours?
Yes, we take 24-hour emergency callouts. Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.
How quickly can you get here?
It depends on where you are and what we are already attending. We will give you a realistic estimate on the phone rather than a guaranteed time we might not meet.
Is my problem actually an emergency?
If water is escaping and you cannot stop it, waste is backing up inside, or the property is being damaged, treat it as one. If it can safely wait, we will tell you and book it in normally.
